Admission Requirements
POST-DIPLOMA CANDIDATES
The University of Cape Coast runs full-time 2-year Post-Diploma Degree Programme as follows:
Applicants in this category should fill the Post-Diploma Application for Admission Forms.
BASIC ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
A good Teacher's Diploma (at a minimum of Second Class Lower Division or better) obtained from one of the former Diploma Awarding Institutions, the University of Cape Coast (DASSE) or equivalent institutions with at least two (2) years post qualification teaching/working experience. All candidates must pass an interview.

- HOME ECONOMICS
- BASIC EDUCATION (Evening Classes)
Candidates for programmes in the Department of Science Education i.e. (i) and (ii) above must also have a minimum of five (5) G.C.E. credit passes including English Language, Mathematics and at least two (2) Science subjects. G.C.E. 'A' Level passes will be an advantage.
B.Ed. (BASIC EDUCATION)
Candidates for the Post-Diploma B.Ed. (Basic Education) programme should have G.C.E. 'O' Level passes in English and Mathematics.
The Diploma obtained should be in a subject taught at the Primary School level.
B.Ed. (HOME ECONOMICS)
The duration of the programme is three years (as students have to take professional education courses for the equivalent of two semesters in addition to content course that include a new second teaching subject) - Management in Living. Applicants must:
- Have passes in SSSCE Core English and Core Mathematics or G.C.E. 'O' Level English and Mathematics.
- Attain a minimum of 2nd Class Upper in the HND.
- Pass a selected test and interview conducted by the department.
Successful HND applicants are admitted to level 200
B.Ed. (BASIC EDUCATION) (Evening Classes Programme)
Candidates for entry to the programme must possess Diploma (Basic Education) Certificate from the Institute of Education, University of Cape Coast or its equivalent from a recognized University Institution.
