Institute for Educational Planning and Administration (IEPA)
The IEPA continue to offer programmes designed to train both experts and non-experts in education.The IEPA has reviewed it's curriculum to make it more professionally oriented and also to meet the managerial and leadership training needs of polytechnic staff.
The IEPA has also set a new research agenda that seeks to provide new insights into the delivery of quality education to children in disadvantaged areas through improved leadership and management skills of headteachers. In this regard, IEPA sponsored two lecturers to take a week’s post-doctoral advanced training in qualitative research methodology. Plans are far advanced to begin a Ph.D degree programme in qualitative research methodology.
The Institute for Educational Planning and Administration was established in August 1975. Its general objective is to provide education and training aimed at improving leadership capabilities of staff of the Ghana Education Service (GES) by raising their level of involvement in their areas of operation. The IEPA also seeks to improve the operational efficiency of personnel within the GES.
The IEPA operates under four units all of which are overseen by the Director. The units are:
*The In-service Education Unit.
*The Research Unit.
*The Documentation Unit.
*The University Teaching Unit.
